Student Financial Aid Information Week Begins Monday

The purpose of these free sessions is to guide parents and students through the application process.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Access to the Federal College Student Aid Application for the 2023 school year is now open on the Free Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA). Through the FAFSA link, students in the San Angelo Independent School District who plan to go to college next year and their families can apply for their share of $150 billion in aid.

According to a press release from SAISD, it is more important than ever to complete FAFSA applications as soon as possible to improve the likelihood of receiving aid.

To learn more about FAFSA and other financial aid options, the Educational Services Center Region 15 is hosting a FAFSA/TASFA Information Week in San Angelo. The purpose of these free sessions is to guide parents and students through the application process for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the Application for Texas State Financial Aid (TASFA). These apps, essential for students considering going to college, help families find financial assistance (including grants, loans, and work-study programs) that matches their needs.

Families are encouraged to complete and submit the FAFSA/TASFA even if they are unsure at this stage of their students’ educational plans for the next year, as FAFSA/TASFA funds are awarded on a first-come basis. , first served.

The following sessions are offered by Region 15. Students and families can attend any of the sessions below regardless of location or campus the student attends.

  • Student’s Social Security/DACA number
  • Student driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Federal Student Tax Returns for 2021
  • Parents’ Federal Income Tax Returns for 2021
  • Parent and Foreign Student Registration Card (if you are not a US citizen)
  • FSA ID/Username and Password for Student and Parent – visit FAFSA.ed.gov to request a username and password
