Pursuing higher education can be financially taxing most of the time, especially when studying abroad.
In today’s digital world, however, many online platforms have made life easier for a number of students as they can find scholarships and scholarships without much hassle.
Here are some online platforms that can help students get student loans and scholarships to pursue higher education.
Buddy4Study is an online platform that aggregates information on global scholarships with the aim of making quality education accessible to everyone.
Launched by IIT, IIM and BITS Pilani alumni in 2011, the platform has so far helped over a million students to get the right scholarships.
It has a scholarship search engine that allows applicants and providers to access information on scholarships around the world.
GyanDhan is an online education funding marketplace that also offers a scholarship of Rs. 1,000,000.
It was launched with the aim of increasing accessibility to higher education.
The scholarship is awarded based on merit and strength of profile. It is aimed at candidates who are taking a two-year postgraduate course abroad, in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, among others.
Students must hold an undergraduate degree from an Indian university.
Vidyasaarathi is an online platform managed by Protean eGov Technologies Limited. This is a technology initiative to provide financial aid to deserving students through corporate-funded scholarships.
Students can apply for education funding programs for skills development and higher education. So far, more than 10 lakh students have registered on this platform and applicants are receiving merit-based scholarships from fund providers, industries and companies.
National Scholarship Portal
The National Scholarship Portal is an education support initiative under the Centre’s National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).
It is a mission mode project which aims to provide a single digital platform for different services related to government scholarships – applications, receipts, processing, sanctions and disbursement.
It serves as a common portal for the implementation of central government scholarships and those offered by the states and union territories.
